Sam Kerr nominated for ABC Sport Personality of the Year

Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr has been nominated for the ABC Sport Personality of the Year award following a sensational 12 months.

The 25-year-old led the Westfield Matildas' charge to the Asian Cup final, scoring three goals, including the winning penalty in their semi-final shoot-out.

She also enjoyed a prolific National Women's Soccer League campaign for Chicago Red Stars, winning the golden boot by netting 16 times in 20 appearances.

Kerr returned to the Westfield W-League for the 2018/19 Season with Perth Glory, inspiring her side to a remarkable comeback to draw 4-4 with Canberra United in Round 2.


Australians will be able to vote on the AIS Sport Performance Awards at aisawards.abc.net.au from now until 5pm AEDT on 9 December, 2018.
