It was just over a year ago when the Westfield Matildas last graced the hallowed turf in Melbourne and what a night it turned out to be.

The opponent on 22 November last year was Asian rival China, a match that served as key preparation for Australia's AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2018 campaign.

Alen Stajcic’s side flexed their muscle in this game, dominating the visitors from start to finish with a dominant 3-0 performance.

Star forward Sam Kerr got the scoring underway in the 23rd minute climbing high at a corner to head home at the near post.

The Westfield Matildas continued to pepper the Chinese goal but had to wait until the second half to get what their dominant play deserved.

In the 53rd minute midfielder Tameka Butt gathered the ball just outside the box before unleashing a curling shot that found its way into the top left corner despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Zhao Lina.

10 minutes later Kerr nabbed her second with an out-of-this-world strike.

Receiving the ball in a similar position to Butt, Kerr let the ball roll before taking her shot first-time, burying it in the top right corner.
