Though Holger Osieck's men dropped one spot to 22 on the official rankings they have managed to become the top team in Asia, largely thanks to Japan plummeting 11 places.

The Blue Samurai now sit 30th on the official list, eight places below the Socceroos.

The Socceroos were given even more space on top of the Asian pile with South Korea falling to 34, while our next opponents Saudi Arabia fell two places to 89.

In other rankings news Spain continued to reign supreme, holding their No1 position, with Germany climbing to second overall.

However shock winners of thr African Cup of Nations, Zambia have been the biggest movers in the lastest rankings, climbing a huge 28 places to No43, after shocking Didier Drogba's Ivory Coast side in a penalty shootout.
