The Qantas Joeys have started their final preparations for next week-s AFC U/16 Youth Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with a comfortable 3-0 win over the host nation in Tashkent.

Australia dominated for the majority of the match, with Stephen Domenici and Eli Babalj scoring in quick succession in the first half and Ben Kantarovski adding a third goal late in the match.

Babalj had the chance to give Australia an early lead when he rounded the keeper, but his shot from a tight angle hit the post.

Continuing to attack the Joeys dominance finally resulted in a goal after 33 minutes, when Domenici raced onto a ball over the top, cut inside his defender and blasted the ball past the keeper.

Domenici turned provider five minutes later when he again got in behind the defence, crossing first time to Babalj, who had to beat several defenders before slotting home.

The third goal came late in the game when a Marc Warren free kick was headed home by Kantarovski at the far post.
