The Qantas Futsalroos has kept its AFC Futsal Championships quarter finals hopes alive, after a 3-1 win over Korea Republic at the Amagasaki City Commemoration Gymnasium today.

Two goals from Matt Whyte and one from Lachlan Wright erased the disappointment of yesterday's 1-0 loss to Turkmenistan.

Australia were forced to come from behind, after Lee Jong-yun had given Korea Republic the lead in the 25th minute.

With time running down, Whyte restored parity for the Australians in the 33rd minute, setting up thrilling finale.

Wright gave Australia the lead in the 39th minute, and a minute later and seconds remaining, Whyte grabbed a second to give Australia the 3-1 win.

Coach Scott Gilligan said after the match, “We needed to win and thankfully we are still in the fray. We will have to win against Kyrgyzstan tomorrow and to achieve that we must try and nullify their attack".

To make the quarter finals, Australia will need a few things go their way, not the least getting a result against group favourites Kyrgyzstan and Korea Republic snatching a win against Turkmenistan.

In the other match, Kyrgyzstan beat Turkmenistan 7-1.
