LAST TIME

In case you somehow missed it, Australia won the first match 2-1 on Saturday at a sold-out and jumping Pepper Stadium.

Goals from Lisa De Vanna and Sam Kerr were enough to secure the win despite a late goal from Brazilian substitute Debinha.

MINIMAL CHANGES FOR MATILDAS

It's difficult to see Westfield Matildas coach Alen Stajcic making too many changes to his starting eleven for game two.

Expect the bulk of the players who started Saturday's clash in Penrith to back up for the second match.

Portland Thorns striker Hayley Raso is a chance to start, but she may again have to be content with an impact role with Sam Kerr, Lisa De Vanna and Caitlin Foord a highly effective front three.

DE VANNA'S DELIGHT

Fresh from her brace in the 6-1 mauling of Brazil at the Tournament of Nations, the inspirational Lisa De Vanna supplied the opening goal in Saturday's clash.

Playing her 125th international, the South Melbourne striker produced a moment of exquisite skill and technique, firing home a dipping left-footed volley from just outside the penalty area to open the scoring.

SAM'S TIME TO SHINE

Sam Kerr's headed goal on Saturday was just the latest magical moment in a wonderful year for the Westfield Matildas star.

In the week ahead, she'll find out if she's made the three-strong shortlist for FIFA women's player of the year, with the winner to be announced at a glittering ceremony in London on October 23.
