Portugal draw halts Westfield Matildas' record winning run

The Westfield Matildas' eight-match winning run has come to an end following a 0-0 draw with Portugal at the Algarve Cup.

Even the in-form Sam Kerr was unable to find a way through the well-organised host nation, although Australia will feel aggrieved not to have been awarded an early penalty.

They now lead Group A by one point following Norway's 2-0 win over China PR.

Catch up with the key stats and facts from Saturday morning's encounter.

  • After conceding three goals from eight shots faced (four on target) in their 2018 Algarve Cup opener against Norway, the Westfield Matildas conceded none from eight efforts on their goal (two on target) today against Portugal.
