Qantas Socceroo goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac (pictured right) is heading to the Serie B, unless he can secure a transfer, after Perugia lost its promotion/relegation play-off 2-1 on aggregate against Fiorentina.   Kalac played a full game in the 1-1 draw played at Florence-s Franchi Stadium. Fiorentina won the first leg 1-0 at Perugia.   Enrico Fantini, scorer of the lone goal in the first leg, again gave his team the lead in the second leg, but just 10 minutes later he received a second yellow card and was subsequently sent off.   Perugia tried in vain to fight their way back into the tie, needing three goals to stay up, but they managed only one late in the game, ending a very disappointing season.   Fiorentina-s rise back from oblivion and into the Serie A in just two season-s is a remarkable story.   Two season-s ago they were relegated with huge debts and suddenly they were declared bankrupt and Fiorentina ceased to exist.   Out of the Fiorentina ashes a new club, Florentina Viola was born and they allowed to take part in the C2 competition (Italy-s fourth division), which they won.   Having claimed back its original name, the expansion of the Serie B last season, saw Fiorentina suddenly promoted to the Serie B, where they finished a creditable sixth and a place in the play-off.   Fiorentina-s promotion could spell a godsend for Kalac-s Australian teammate Vince Grella, who was reportedly a target of the Florence-based club if they were successful in getting back into the Serie A. Grella-s Empoli was relegated after finishing second last on the Serie A table.   Kalac meanwhile will way up his options with reports linking him to Greek powerhouse Pananthaniakos.
