Socceroos captain Lucas Neill has urged fans to arrive early for Australia-s AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain tomorrow at Aussie Stadium. Meanwhile the FFA announced late today, a limited number of tickets have been secured for sale to the 2007 Asian Cup qualifying match.

The match will be the Socceroos last home match for 2006 and Neill has urged football fans to consider peak hour traffic conditions when planning their travel to Aussie Stadium.

The match will kick-off at 7.30pm and fans should be aware that, while Special Event Clearways will be in place for roads around the Moore Park Precinct from 3pm, the wider Sydney road network will be impacted by normal weekday peak hour traffic conditions.

“It was a great experience in Brisbane last Saturday to have such noisy support and so many people in the stands when the teams walked on the field,” said Neill. “It would great to have a similar experience here in my home town.

“It always gives the players a great lift to have so many Aussies supporters to welcome us out of the dressing rooms and even for the warm-up 45 minutes prior to kick off.

“The fact that we only rarely have a chance to play at home, and that these matches are our first at home since the World Cup will make it a particularly special experience.

“From what I-m told traffic can sometimes be congested in the area so it would be best for supporters to plan their trip and, if possible, make use of the various public transport options available.”

Special public transport options include 'Moore Park Link' - a combined train/bus ticket which will transport supporters to and from Moore Park on a single ticket. These are available from most CityRail stations with a ticket office.

Additionally, Sydney Buses will run express shuttle services from Chalmers St, Central Station to Moore Park with buses leaving every few minutes from 4.30pm until game time. Return services operate to Central Station from Stand A, Bays 1-3 until 10.30pm.

Fans are encouraged to telephone 131 500 or go to www.131500.com.au for all the latest public transport arrangements.

Supporters should also consider that other events are being held in the Moore Park precinct, such as the 4.00pm and 8.00pm performances of Cirque du Soileil-s “Varekai” at the Entertainment Quarter. These events will attract additional cars and public transport commuters to the precinct.

The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust operates the Moore Park car parks. A flat parking fee of $15 will be charged for each car as a special arrangement for this event.
