Qantas Socceroos captain Lucas Neill has extended his stay in the Midle East, signing a one-year deal with Dubai-based club Al Wasl.
Qantas Socceroos captain Lucas Neill has extended his stay in the Midle East, signing a one-year deal with Dubai-based club Al Wasl.
Speculation had been rife that Neill was due to find a new club in the UAE, and the Australia skipper confirmed the transfer on his Twitter account, saying:
"Delighted to sign my contract for Al Wasl. Very excited to meet the team and help bring success for the club!!"
This will be Neill's second season in the UAE, following his stint with 2010/11 champions Al Jazira.
