Matildas coach Tom Sermanni has named an experienced and very attacking line-up for the opening match of the FIFA Women-s World Cup 2007 against Ghana on Wednesday night.

The battle to the lead the frontline against Ghana was probably the biggest selection dilemma for Sermanni with Sarah Walsh and Caitlin Munoz getting the nod.

With a full squad to choose from, Sermanni also opted to give Young Matilda Clare Polkinghorne one of the wide defensive berths.

The starting eleven vs Ghana is: Melissa Barbieri (gk); Clare Polkinghorne, Cheryl Salisbury (c), Di Alagich, Kate McShea, Sally Shipard, Collette McCallum, Heather Garriock, Jo Peters, Sarah Walsh and Caitlin Munoz

A full preview with Tom Sermanni will be posted Wednesday.
