Matildas Abroad Preview: Danish Women's Cup Final kicks off for Fortuna Hjørring; FC Rosengård look to extend their unbeaten streak to eight

Fortuna Hjørring plays in the Danish Women's Cup Final, while FC Rosengård and San Diego Wave FC look to extend their unbeaten streaks. 

Three Aussies have the chance to claim a trophy in Denmark; while the Swedish season continues for our Matildas Abroad.

Starting things off in Denmark, Clare Wheeler, Angie Beard and Indi-Paige Riley's Fortuna Hjørring will be looking to claim the Danish Women's Cup for the tenth time when they face last season's runners up FC Thy-Thisted Q.

The two sides met last weekend in the Danish Women's League Championship Round, with Fortuna Hjørring walking away with a 4-0 win.


This game will kick off on Friday night at 11:00 pm AEST. 

Moving over to midweek action in Sweden, Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry's Vittsjö GIK will take on Kalmar tomorrow morning as they look to extend their unbeaten streak to five games. 


Their opposition has only recorded two wins so far in the season, coming into the game off the back of a 4-2 defeat last weekend. 

Polkinghorne was on the scoresheet in Vittsjö GIK's 2-2 draw over the weekend, scoring her first of the season. 

This game will kick off on Thursday morning at 3:00 am AEST

Meanwhile, Hammarby will be looking for their third win of the season when they take on second to last IF Brommapojkarna.

Since her debut, Courtney Nevin has made an impact at her new club, however, fellow Aussie Kyra Cooney-Cross is still eagerly awaiting her debut, after an injury held back her first appearance for Hammarby.

Over in Eskilstuna, Remy Siemsen's AIK will be looking to climb off the bottom of the table when they take on fifth place Eskilstuna.

Siemsen is still itching to find the back of the net at her new side, picking up an assist on her debut.

Over in Malmö, Teagan Micah and Charli Grant's FC Rosengård will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to eight and maintain their spot at the top of the table went they host Kristianstads DFF.

Micah kept a clean sheet in Rosengård's 3-0 win last weekend, while Grant made an appearance off the bench. 

This game will kick off on Saturday morning at 2:00 am AEST

Vittsjö GIK will play their second game of the week when they host Piteå IF, this game will kick off on Sunday night at 9:00 pm AEST

Moving over to the USA, Chloe Logarzo's Kansas City will be aiming to lift themselves from the bottom of the table and collect their first win of the season when they take on Orlando Pride.


The midfielder is still recovering from her ACL injury but has begun training with the side. 

This game will kick off on Sunday morning at 8:30 am AEST

Alex Chidiac will be eyeing her debut for her Racing Louisville when they host Houston Dash, with the midfielder not being named to the matchday squad for Racing's 2-2 draw with OL Reign.

Meanwhile, Emily van Egmond's San Diego Wave FC will be aiming to extend their winning run to three when they host the Chicago Red Stars.


Van Egmond has played every minute in Wave FC's last two wins and will be up against her former club, where the midfielder spent the 2014 NWSL season. 

This game will kick off on Monday morning at 7:00 am AEST

Our last stop takes us to Italy, where  Aivi Luik and Ella Mastrantonio's Pomigliano C.F play their final game of the season against tenth place Napoli. 

One point separates the two sides going into the final matchday, with Pomigliano 15 points clear of last place. 

This game will kick off on Saturday night at 10:30 pm AEST.
