'Driven' Logarzo makes personal FIFA Women's World Cup pledge

Chloe Logarzo is hell-bent on atoning for the heartbreak of her absence from the last FIFA Women's World Cup and insists nothing can shake her steely focus.

The Westfield Matildas midfielder fell narrowly short of selection for the squad that ultimately reached the last eight at Canada 2015.

She later described the omission as a wake-up call and the versatile 23-year-old, a national team regular since that tournament, is intent on making up for the near miss in France next year.

DE VANNA: I want to inspire the girls
CRUMMER: Sea of green and gold 'something special

"I'm never going to let it slip out of my hands again like I did in 2015," the Sydney FC star said.

"I'm definitely more driven than I've ever been. Every game counts from now until the World Cup."

Having started the new Westfield W-League season in strong form, Logarzo has re-joined her Australia team-mates ahead of the two-game 'Seven Consulting International Series' against Chile.

Sam Kerr, Alanna Kennedy, Emily van Egmond and Katrina Gorry are all back alongside Lydia Williams and Laura Alleway in a big boost to the team which travelled to Europe last month.

"It's nice to have the girls back in," Logarzo said.

"It was difficult for us to go away to France and England and play two top teams.

"I think having their experience back in the team will be great for the Matildas. We're going to put everything into these matches.

"Hopefully we get exposed. It's not something that everyone likes to hear but if we want to be better and be the best for [the World Cup], we need to get exposed."

Big crowds are expected for the matches in Penrith and Newcastle and Logarzo is excited by the frenzied atmosphere that has become commonplace for the Westfield Matildas on home soil.

"I'm looking forward to the support of the nation backing us in these games in the lead-up to the World Cup," she added.
