Matildas star attacker Kyah Simon will take a different role in front of the camera when she guests as co-host on Thursday FC.

Kyah will join the regular crew - David Zdrilic, Lucy Zelic and Matt Okine - hosting this week-s program on Thursday 16 January at 8.30pm on SBS2 (and 11pm on SBS1).

There will also be interviews with Hyundai A-League players from Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar.

Simon has been one of Australia-s most prominent footballers since debuting for the Matildas as a 16-year-old in 2007.

Now 22, Simon became the first Indigenous Australian to score at a FIFA World Cup when she netted against Norway at Germany 2011. The Sydneysider also struck the winning penalty when the Westfield Matildas became the first Australian side to win an Asian crown in 2010.

Simon was one of five Aussies featuring in last year-s inaugural season of USA-s fully-professional National Women-s Soccer League where she played for Boston Breakers, and was also a key signing for Western Sydney Wanderers in the Westfield W-League only to suffer a season-ending knee injury playing for Australia in September.
