The Westfield Matildas will likely need to defeat Asian Football Confederation (AFC) rivals Japan in order to claim the 2018 trophy.

A draw or loss against the reigning Asian Cup Champions would leave the door open for either USA or Brazil to claim the prize in the second match on Friday.

However, if both matches later in the week finish level, Australia could still clinch the trophy on goals scored, as long as they finish with more goals scored than USA.

A Westfield Matildas win over Japan would knock Brazil out of the reckoning prior to kick-off in their match against USA.

The Westfield Matildas’ final match at the 2018 Tournament of Nations will be played against Japan on Thursday, 2 August 2018 (local time) at Toyota Park.

The game will be broadcast LIVE in Australia on FOX SPORTS 505 and the My Football Live app from 7.45am (AEST) on Friday, 3 August 2018.
