The 20-year-old signed for the Magpies from Heart last year on a six-year deal and has spent time out on loan with Bradford City.

The Melbourne product was one of eight changes to the Newcastle side that played out a goalless draw with West Ham at St. James- Park at the weekend, with Manager Alan Pardew choosing to test a number of his squad in the knock-out competition.

Newcastle left it late to progress from their second round tie against away to a side three divisions below them in English football. Goals from brothers Shola and Sammy Ameobi coming in the final ten minutes of the match to give the Magpies their first win of the new campaign.

Good, who made 25 appearances for the Heart in the Hyundai A-League and has 13 caps for the Young Socceroos was praised for his composed display in defence by his home fans.

He becomes only the second Aussie to take to the field in a game involving a side from the top-flight of English football this season, with Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak having made two league starts already.

Newcastle United will host Leeds United in the third round of the League Cup.
