Australian Under 23 Richard Garcia played a major role in the biggest upset of second round League Cup action played overnight, while Qantas Socceroo John Aloisi couldn-t continue his goalscoring run, as Osasuna lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera Liga.   Garcia, who injured in his knee in the lead up to the Oceania Under 23 qualifiers, was at the forefront of Colchester United-s two goals as they beat Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion in extra time.   The former West Ham midfielder, who transferred to Colchester only a month ago, played in a terrific cross for the first goal and then in extra time, his shot at goal forced a scramble in the box and Ben May was on hand to poke home the winner.   It was a mixed night for the Aussies on show with Jacob Burns playing a full game for Barnsley in a forgettable night that saw them thrashed 7-1 by Manchester City. Others to taste defeat were Adrian Caceres as Yeovil lost 2-0 at home against Bolton, while Joel Porter-s Hartlepool gave Crystal Palace a scare, eventually going down 2-1 in extra time.   Winners through to Round Three include Qantas Socceroo Tony Vidmar and his Cardiff City team, who easily accounted for Milton Keynes Dons 4-1, who had Gareth Edds playing a full game. Jamie McMaster started for Leeds in its 1-0 win over Swindon, while Trent McClenahan was on the bench for West Ham as they won 3-2 over Notts County.   Meanwhile David Beckham produced one his trademark free kicks to earn Real a 1-0 win over an Osasuna side that more than matched its more illustrious opponent.   Aloisi, who had scored in his past two starts for Osasuna, played a full game, but his only significant stat for the game was a yellow card.   In Scotland, Stuart Lovell led Livingston to a come from behind Scottish League Cup win against Dundee, the winning goal coming in extra time after they only drew level from the penalty spot in the 90th minute of normal time.   In the German Cup, Saso Radulovic got a start for RH Ahlen, but was replaced at half time in the 3-2 win, while Qantas Socceroo Paul Agostino played a full game as 1860 Munich bowed out on penalties to Eintracht Trier. Qantas Socceroo David Zdrilic did not play for Trier.
