FIFA World Ranking:

Form: Germany was able to play six games in 2020, starting with the Algarve Cup in March. They won that tournament following a 1-0 win over Sweden and a 4-0 win over Norway. They were set to meet Italy in the final but the Italians had to return home due to the pandemic and the Germans were awarded the cup by default.

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg's team ended the year with four straight wins to complete qualification to the Euros in 2022. In those final four matches, Germany scored 15 goals and conceded only once.

Head to head:

The Westfield Matildas and Germany have played four times. The Germans have the slight advantage with two wins to Australia's one. The teams have also drawn once; their last meeting finished 2-2 at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Sam Kerr and Caitlin Foord were on the score sheet on that day in Brazil and fans will be hoping for much of the same.

Players:

The German team is filled with quality players across the park. Alexandra Popp is the German captain who plies her trade at VfL Wolfsburg in the Frauen-Bundesliga, while Sara Däbrtiz plays for PSG and found the back of the net the last time Germany played the Westfield Matildas.
