FFA supports Girls Make Your Move campaign

Football Federation Australia is getting behind the Girls Make Your Move campaign, a new initiative being rolled out by the Australian Government.

This initiative is about promoting the idea of being physically active and living a healthy lifestyle. A major focus is on increasing participation numbers of young girls in a wide range of sports such as football.

Statistics show almost 90 percent of young Australians – including many young females - aren’t being active enough.

The Girls Make Your Move campaign is about smashing through any mental barriers around physical activity and inspiring and empowering young women to be more active.

And the FFA is right behind the proposal, with women’s football a great way to encourage sport and physical activity among young girls.

It’s a timely initiative as well with the Westfield Matildas right in the thick of their preparations for this year’s Rio Games. As well as the Launch of the Women’s Football Development Guide last week at the AIS in Canberra.
