Scott Chipperfield, Alison Forman and long-serving football administrator Alan Vessey were today announced as the newest inductees into the FFA Hall of Fame.
Retired Qantas Socceroo Scott Chipperfield, former Westfield Matilda Alison Forman and long-serving football administrator Alan Vessey were today announced as the newest inductees into the Football Federation Australia (FFA) Hall of Fame at an event held in Brisbane today.
The FFA Hall of Fame recognises sustained and meritorious service to football by players, coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers at the national level. Since 1999, over 200 inductees have been honored.
FFA CEO David Gallop said that acknowledging individual contributions to the game was an important part of celebrating the game-s history.
“Scott, Alison and Alan have contributed significantly to our sport over long and distinguished careers and I commend them all for their achievements,” said Gallop.
“Their stories are part of the game-s rich history in Australia and I-m delighted that they now have the formal recognition by the Hall of Fame.”
Scott Chipperfield was a stalwart for the Socceroos for more than a decade and was part of the famous Uruguay match the ended Australia-s 32-year FIFA World Cup drought. Scott is part of a select group who played at two FIFA World Cup finals.
Alison Forman not only had a stellar career as an international footballer, captaining the Matildas at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She is now a leading football administrator organising one of the world-s largest international youth football tournaments, the Dana Cup in Denmark.
Alan Vessey contributed to football administration from the grass roots through to the national body during a 34 year career, including the organisation of a FIFA U-19 World Cup and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Football tournament
