China draw with Brazil ahead of clashes with Westfield Matildas

China will head to Australia to play the Westfield Matildas next month in string form after a superb fightback in their clash with Brazil on Tuesday.

At the four-nation Yongchuan International Tournament on home soil, China ended their campaign with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw with the South American giants.

Goals to Marta – from the penalty spot – and Beatriz Zaneratto had Brazil leading 2-0 at the break before the Chinese were rewarded for their excellent display in the second half.

Just eight minutes after the resumption, Wang Shuang's inch-perfect through-ball found Wang Shanshan, who finished clinically across the keeper and into the far corner of the net.

And China were level just before the hour mark as Wang Shanshan got her name on the scoresheet with a superb run and finish.

While the Westfield Matildas have beaten Brazil the last three times they met, China showed in their performance against Brazil they’ll be hard to beat for Alen Stajcic’s side.

Brazil’s two wins and a draw was enough to win the four-nation tournament ahead of DPR Korea, China and Mexico.
