Former Australian goalkeeper Mark Bosnich was a surprise guest at the team-s first training session, since they came into camp on Wednesday for Saturday afternoon-s friendly international clash against Nigeria.

Bosnich, who is back in full training to try and resurrect his career, was a keen onlooker, as FFA Technical Director Rob Baan took control of the squad, for the match that will be played at Fulham-s Craven Cottage ground.

The 35-year-old-s career went into a sharp decline when he was sacked by Chelsea for testing positive to cocaine and has basically been a recluse ever since.

However for the past few months, the former Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea star has been training with his former team mate Ed de Goey, who goalkeeping coach at Queens Park Rangers, losing almost 15kg in weight and getting back his sharpness.

His return to the training paddock, has already seen a number of clubs become interested in his services, back here in Australia and abroad. There was little doubt that during his glory years at Villa and initially at Manchester that he was considered one of the best keeper-s in the world.

Part of his revival will also come on Saturday afternoon (London time), as he will be co-commentator of the broadcast on Fox Sports. The telecast starts at 1.00am (Sunday morning), with the match kick-off at 2.00am.

Bosnich played 22 (17A) games in total for the Socceroos over a 10-year period, between 1990 and 2000.

Meanwhile in late news, Wisla Krakow midfielder Jacob Burns has been added to the squad in case of any injury drop-outs, with concerns over several players.
