Qantas Socceroo defender Michael Beauchamp has signed to play for Danish Champions Aalborg BK for the next three seasons.

Beauchamp flew to Denmark after the World Cup qualifier against Qatar on Saturday to make the announcement, thus leaving his German club Nuremberg after two seasons.

The former Central Coast defender enjoyed mixed success with the German club; the first season where he played regularly; while last season he saw his appearances drop as the team were eventually relegated to the Bundesliga 2.

He is due to return to play against China on Sunday in the final game of the 3rd Round of World Cup qualifiers, which Australia has already successfully negotiated passage through to the next phase.

Meanwhile, striker Scott McDonald flew back to Scotland and a new five-year deal with his club Celtic.

McDonald was rewarded for an outstanding first season with Celtic in which he scored 31 goals in all competitions and helped them to successive Scottish Premier League crown-s.

“It was a very successful season for myself personally, and for the club to finish the way it did was fantastic,” McDonald told the clubs- official website.

“I am very grateful to Celtic for giving me this new deal. I am over the moon about it, because I still had another two years with an optional year still on my contract.

“So for the club to show this kind of belief in me boosts your confidence. It-s a great feeling, it makes you feel wanted and I am now just looking forward to more successful times at Celtic Football Club,” he added.
