Australia to kick-off and we are underway.

Australia will play two up front with Kennedy and McDonald, who is desperate to get his name on scoresheet for Australia. Tim Cahill and Craig Moore return after eigh-month absence and will be looking for big performances.

The teams are coming out and the rain looks quite light. We are now listening to the national anthems, so we are not far away from kick-off.

The teams have been out at the end of the goals and done their warm-up and we should be underway in just on 10 minutes. It hasn't dimmed the mood of the fans who are now waiting in anticipation of the kick-off.

The match has been delayed for half an hour till an 8.00pm kick-off. The rain has eased slightly and the rollers are out in the goalmouth areas. The crowd still seems in good spirits despite the delay.

The players will get another warm up from 7.45pm.

Referee is Ibrahim Al Ghamdi from Saudi Arabia. They are doing a pitch inspection, although a lot of the puddles has now disappeared, although there is a lot of water on the pitch.

7.15pm - just been informed that a further pitch inspection will be done at 7.20pm. The rain has eased a little, but is still coming down steadily.

7.05pm - Under heavy rain the pitch has filled with puddles and it shows no signs of letting up. The thunder is very loud and its quite amazing scenes. The bottom tiers of the stands are being cleared to get everyone under cover.

6.40pm - It's absolutely pouring with rain here in Brisbane as the predicted thunderstorms have rolled in and pelted Brisbane Stadium. Only a few brave sould are staying in there seats as they look for cover. This could actually play into Australia's hands who will have experienced these conditions in Europe on many occasions.
