Aussies Abroad preview: Foord, Logarzo in line for English debuts

Westfield Matildas stars Caitlin Foord and Chloe Logarzo could get their English football debuts this weekend.

Foord is gearing up for Arsenal's FA Women's Cup fifth round tie at home to Lewes, on Monday 12am.

She trained at London Colney for the first time on Tuesday following her January move from reigning Westfield W-League Champions Sydney FC.

Foord is expected to be in line for Monday's clash with FA WSL 2 outfit Lewes, before a mouthwatering clash against Sam Kerr's Chelsea in the FA WSL Cup Final next Saturday, February 29.

Kerr's side cannot afford to take their eyes off league action this weekend, however, as the Blues face a potential title-decider against Manchester City at 1am on Monday.

Emma Hayes' Chelsea trail the leaders City by one point ahead of the clash, and have a game in hand on the Manchester club.

Meanwhile, Logarzo could be handed her Bristol City debut when the Robins travel to Birmingham City on Monday, 1am.

Logarzo joined the WSL cellar-dwellers from Sydney FC in January.

Hayley Raso's debut for Everton has been put on hold due to the forward having surgery on Wednesday to repair a broken nose sustained in Australia's 1-1 draw with China last week.

Westfield Matildas boss Ante Milicic confirmed Raso would likely remain in Australia to prepare for their Women's Olympic Football Tournament Play-Off encounter against Vietnam. The first leg commences on Friday 6 March in Newcastle.

Emily Gielnik and Bundesliga giants continue their pursuit of leaders Wolfsburg by hosting Sand at 12am on Monday.

Gielnik's Bayern trail the German pacesetters by six points.

Over in Italy, Lisa De Vanna's Fiorentina side are one match away from a 10-game unbeaten strike.

Getting that tally into double figures would be huge for La Viola given the second-placed side travel to third-placed Milan on Sunday, 10.30pm.

In Spain, Alex Chidiac's Atletico Madrid have the Madrid derby away to Real on Sunday, and in France, Mary Fowler's Montpellier visit Lyon on Monday.
