Aussies Abroad Preview: Debut looms for Kerr as unbeaten Chelsea host Reading

Women's Super League fans could get their first opportunity to catch Sam Kerr in a Chelsea shirt when the Blues host Reading on Sunday evening.

Westfield Matildas captain Kerr arrived in London and completed her first training session for Emma Hayes' squad at the club's Cobham training base on the weekend, having signed for the English powerhouse on a two-and-a-half year deal in November.

Kerr – recently named the best women's footballer on the planet by The Guardian – is in line for her maiden appearance for Chelsea's 11.30pm AEST clash with Reading on Sunday.

Chelsea, currently third on the ladder behind Manchester City and leaders Arsenal with a game in hand, are unbeaten nine matches into the campaign.

Elsewhere in the Women's Super League, Kerr and Chelsea's London rivals West Ham United, the club of rising Australian youth international Jacynta Galabadaarachchi, are up against Everton on Monday at 2.00am AEDT.

Galabadaarachchi's side are eighth on the ladder and welcome the Toffees to Rush Green following a 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Alex Chidiac could be in the frame to make her first start of the Primera División campaign when Atlético Madrid Femenino face Rayo Vallecano at 11.00pm AEDT on Sunday.

Chidiac sprained her left foot in training prior to Atletico's match against Barcelona in September and returned to the bench for the club's 2-1 win over Tacon on December 21.

Atleti, reigning champions of Spain's top tier, trail leaders Barcelona by five points after 13 matches played.
