Aussies Abroad: De Vanna opens Fiorentina account on Serie A debut
Westfield Matildas legend Lisa De Vanna has scored her first goal for Fiorentina.
The 34-year-old forward played the full match as the Italians began their league campaign with a 4-2 triumph over Florentia on Sunday evening (AEST).
De Vanna iced the three points by capitalising on a defensive mishap by the Florentia defence before rounding the ‘keeper and knocking the ball home with the last kick of the match.
She signed for the Serie A club in August and made her debut in the club’s UEFA Champions League loss to Arsenal last Friday morning.

There were also maiden league starts for Westfield Matildas Emily Gielnik and Jacynta Galabadaarachchi this weekend.
Gielnik played 65 minutes of Bayern Munich’s 2-1 defeat to Leverkusen and went close to getting on the scoresheet in the second half before her withdrawal for Serbian forward Jovana Damnjanovic.
Meanwhile, Galabadaarachchi made first Women’s Super League start for West Ham United in the club’s 1-0 win over Birmingham City.
Galabadaarachchi, 18, was substituted just shy of the hour mark but pulled the strings impressively for the Irons in a central midfield role next to Korea Republic legend Cho So-hyun.
In Spain, Alex Chidiac got her first minutes of the Primera Division season in Atletico Madrid's 3-0 win over Sevilla.
Chidiac arrived as an 87th minute substitute as the reigning champions went two wins from two league matches.
And in the Norwegian Toppserien, Aivi Luik played 90 minutes as Avaldsnes beat Kolbotn 2-1 for their third league win in a row.
Tameka Yallop also played the full match for Klepp in their come from behind 1-1 draw with league leaders LSK.
