Argentina squad named for Norway friendly

Argentina has recalled Javier Saviola, defender Fabricio Coloccini and midfielder Maximiliano Rodriguez to its squad for the international friendly against Norway that is being played Tuesday.

The players missed the Copa America for different reasons, Saviola and Coloccini because of form and Rodriguez because of fitness concerns following a six-month injury lay-off.

Other new players drafted in include Ezequiel Garay and Sergio Romero, who are both uncapped, while Jose Sosa, Oscar Ustari, Cristian Ledesma, Federico Insua are also additions in the mainly European-based squad.

Several players from the Copa America have not been included for the Norway match, with playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme, defender Gabriel Heinze, and Carlos Tevez, who all at the time of their selection, were still in trying to sort out their club careers.

Roberto Ayala retired after the Copa America tournament, while Rodrigo Palacio, Hugo Ibarra, Hernan Crespo, Pablo Aimar, Estaban Cambiasso and Juan Sebastian Veron are also not included.
