Caitlin Foord and Sydney FC have a truly exemplary record against the Brisbane Roar this season.
However, the Sky Blues striker has called for calm ahead of Sunday's match, despite Foord's side scoring eight goals in two matches against the Roar in 2018/19.
Although third-placed Sydney finished a spot below Brisbane in the table, and travel north to Dolphin Stadium for the showdown, the Sky Blues can rest easy knowing that they are one of just two sides to have beaten the Roar in the Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season.
A 5-1 destruction of the Queenslanders in Round 6 was followed with a confident 3-1 showing away from home, putting the side in a position of confidence heading into the fixture.
Speaking on Friday ahead of the clash, Foord says she has plenty of conflicting emotions heading into Sunday.
"I'm obviously excited but nervous at the same time. We’ve had two wins against them and scored some goals but finals is a whole different ball game," Foord told w-league.com.au.
"When it comes to football anything can happen and we’ve just gotta be at our best to get the win and hopefully go on to the Grand Final."
The Westfield Matildas star admitted she was short on confidence heading into the Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season.
However, her nine goals in 12 matches - five of which were scored against the Roar - has seen her bounce back in emphatic fashion, hitting red-hot form with the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup on the horizon.
"I’ve been struggling with confidence in scoring goals so to put nine in this season, I’m super happy with that.
"To build it up heading into the year that we’re going into, it’s a positive for me, but I’ve gotta give full credits to my team mates as well, obviously a lot of [the goals] have been set up really nicely to me."
Hayley Raso will make her fourth consecutive appearance for the Roar on the weekend, something Foord also carries mixed feelings about.
"It’s nice to see her on the field but obviously it's not nice when we’re having to play against her," Foord joked.
"At the end of the day we are teammates as well, so it is really nice to see her back."
