Qantas Socceroo striker John Aloisi has reportedly signed a two-year contract with newly promoted Spanish side Alaves.

Qantas Socceroo striker John Aloisi has reportedly signed a two-year contract with newly promoted Spanish side Alaves.

Aloisi looked as though he might re-sign with Osasuna, after the proposed move to Greek giants Panathinaikos fell through, however Alaves showed some interest and reports out of Spain suggest he has signed for them.

Sky Sports quotes Aloisi saying: "Alaves is a new club in the Primera Liga but with a big history in Spain.

"For me it is an excellent place to search for goals."
