It will be a day of firsts for the Westfield Matildas and captain Sam Kerr when they take to the field against the USA on Friday afternoon (AEDT).
For the first time, Australia's women will line up in their all-new Nike team kit, which was unveiled at a ceremony in Paris, France, in March.
The kit, which the Westfield Matildas will wear with pride at the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™, has won a legion of admirers – not least among the players themselves.
But that is not all. For captain Kerr, the USA fixture will also offer the first opportunity to test her new state-of-the-art Nike boots in competitive action.
Along with football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe, Kerr is an ambassador for the Nike Mercurial 360 ‘LVL UP’.
