Football Federation Australia today announced that Alan Vest has been appointed as Acting-Head-Coach of Perth Glory, whilst Mich d-Avray will continue in his role as Director of Football with player recruitment his top priority.

"We-ve always said it was business as usual at the Glory since the FFA took control of the club since May 1," said FFA Head of Operations Matt Carroll.

"Today-s announcement is a reflection of that position, and Alan is the best man to prepare Perth Glory for the upcoming Pre-Season Cup and Hyundai A-League season."

"Mich will also continue in his role as Director of Football and, having mapped out the pre-season training schedule in conjunction with Vest, is currently looking at a number of players that he can recommend to us to sign."

Alan Vest was pleased with the announcement and is now focused on preparing the players for a successful season.

"I-m happy that the coaching issue has been put to rest, and we can get on with the business of playing football. The players and myself were disappointed with our performance last season and we-re looking to re-establish ourselves as the number one club football team in Australia," said Vest.

Mich d-Avray was also positive regarding the announcement, ahead of a scouting trip to the FIFA World Cup in Germany.

"One of things the public doesn-t see is all the behind the scenes work that have been going on in the off-season. But I can assure our supporters that we have been working hard since our last match to build a team that can once again challenge for the titles of Premiers and Champions," said d-Avray.

"We have identified a number of potential signings locally, from interstate and also internationally, with Qantas Socceroo Stan Lazaridis at the top of our list," concluded d-Avray.

On the topic of the ownership of Perth Glory, Carroll commented that the FFA was continuing to negotiate with interested parties and is looking to announce a new owner of Perth Glory in the near future.
